My best friend went to heaven on July 7, 2008

Well it's been awhile since I've blogged. Life is hitting us hard these days. We took our dog to the vet on Monday as he wasn't feeling good and threw up a corn cob July 4th. We thought he may have had a stomach obstruction. To make a long story short he had a tumor the size of a kickball on his spleen really close to bursting. We had to make a decision to put him down. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do. Greg, Sarah and myself went to Kelly Rankins office to say good bye to him after I got out of work. It was the saddest thing, something I hope we never have to do again. I looked him in the eye and told him he was a good dog, kissed him on his nose and told him he'll be seeing Jesus and we'll meet him there someday. I couldn't go to work the next day or even walk in my back yard. I couldn't pray or read the bible. But I did ask God to please give me some kind of sign that he is ok and to please touch me in some way. Well at 6:00 our doorbell rang and 2 little boys about 11 or 12 were trying to promote a Christian radio station by selling books for a donation. The book he showed me was called " Your pets and your health" and he said to me "If you ever lost a pet and wondered if he was in heaven, this book is about a story of a guy that loved his dog that died" I teared up and said to those boys "You guys were angels sent by God" and told him what happened with my dog. One of the boys lost his dog too about 1 year ago and I could see the sadness in his eyes. I took the book, gave those kids a hug and praised my Lord for answering my prayer. I truly felt God came to my door that day to lift my spirit. The book is about this man who wanted to research in the bible what God says about pets that die, where they would be and backed it up with scripture. I read parts of it last night and have no doubt that Grizzly is in heaven and I will see him again. Although I miss him terribly, God gave me the strength and turned my sad spirit into joy. I told so many people today at work today and used that as a witnessing tool. Some people got chills but when my God does something so extrodinary like that I have to give him all the glory. He is so awesome!
